Jeff is a native of Salt Lake City, growing up in the shadows of Mount Olympus. Watching the sun rise over the Wasatch and set behind the Oquirrh Mountains Jeff’s vision was toward the high country from an early age. Utah’s spectacular topography sparked an early and lasting interest in geology and the mountain building process fueled by plate tectonics. Jeff has a patent application for a geo-thermal power plant cooling system

As the oldest of four Jeff and his dad have shared a special relationship from which he gained a strong curiosity about how organizations make decisions. From his earliest memories he pondered the questions of how people are organized and capital deployed to serve uncertain and changing customer demands.  This curiosity was fueled in a freshman economics class that charted the course of his professional life. While engaging his interests in science, Jeff concentrated on international trade and economic development as an undergraduate earning a BS from the University of Utah in economics with a minor in international relations.

After a final season as a ski instructor Jeff pursued his MBA (International Finance) at UCLA. Jeff chose a position with Amoco International Oil Company beginning a 35 year career in energy economics, project development and management. Over this period Jeff has managed businesses in oil and gas exploration, natural gas transmission, energy project development, fuel logistics and finance.  He has worked in north and south America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.  For the past 10 years he has served as an advisor to elected officials, senior management and large organizations.

An active member of his community, Jeff supports his local Chamber of Commerce.  He provides coaching to senior executives and facilitates the Advanced Leadership Forum and Executive Council.

Jeff balances work life with skiing, fly fishing, golf, hiking, biking, tennis, reading and yard work. He currently serves on the outreach, search and property committees of Grace Episcopal Church in The Plains, VA and is a past member of the Vestry.
