Chuck Birdie

Charles (Chuck) Birdie has been working in the non-profit field for thirty years.  In that time he has provided fundraising expertise for numerous capital-campaign clients and directed the foundations of several national medical and education associations.

He has observed that the most successful organizations have leaders and staff who are mission-driven, aligned with a plan, accountable for specific goals, and who work together to serve their constituents (members, donors,  patients, students, communities, etc.).

As a campaign consultant, Chuck managed 20 capital campaigns for healthcare, civic, religious and educational organizations.  Goals for these campaigns ranged from $600,000 parish campaigns to the $120 million Rotary International effort.  In the Rotary campaign, Chuck raised $15 million from Rotary’s northern Europe region.  One of his Canadian hospital projects won the Showcase Development Award - Capital Campaigns from the Association of Health Care Philanthropy (AHP) for campaign planning and execution.

More recently, Chuck directed the development efforts for several medical and educational associations in the Washington DC area including the American Academy of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Foundation, the American Academy of Physician Assistants Foundation, the Biotechnology Institute and the Challenger Center for Space Science Education.

Mr. Birdie conducted the Greater Niagara General Hospital campaign which won the Canadian-wide Showcase Development Award for Capital Campaigns from the Association of Health Care Philanthropy (AHP) for campaign planning and execution.
He has held Senior Staff positions with organizations with budgets of  $1.0M - $18.0M.
